MeBIC monitors statewide demographic trends and the labor needs of Maine’s businesses, and works collaboratively across sectors to support reforms that will maximize immigrants’ ability to contribute to Maine’s economy as workers, entrepreneurs, consumers, and citizens.
MeBIC:
- Advocates for initiatives, laws and policies that welcome immigrants and facilitate their ability to reach their full potential in Maine as workers, entrepreneurs, consumers, and citizens.
- Partners with Maine’s business community to understand their labor needs and what resources would help them successfully engage Maine’s immigrants in their workforce.
- Informs businesses and economic leaders in Maine about how federal, state and local policies, laws, and actions affect our ability to attract, retain, and ensure the success of immigrants in Maine’s workforce.
- Collaborates with private and public partners in Maine and nationally to support best practices that foster immigrant success in Maine’s workforce, economy and society.
MeBIC is the Maine state chapter of the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC).
